An 'Always On' Connection means that you are always connected to the internet. You just have to enter your Username and Password to gain access to the Internet. You don't need to dial any phone number.

What is the technology used by Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband to provide Broadband connectivity?

Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband specialized in wireless broadband service. The service is powered with 4th Generation OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) & MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) technologies.

If your building is ready for service with Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband, post receiving service demo from the authorised Company Installation representative, the service can be delivered within 3 days from the date of realisation of subscription amount. In case of cheque payment, service activation shall take 6-10 working days from the date of cheque submission.

What setup do I need at my residence or office in order to subscribe to Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service?

Device configuration requirements:

  • PCs / Laptops must have minimum Intel P IV 2 GHz or higher processor and 1 GB RAM - Minimum 2 GB free hard disk space at the time of installation - Operating System: Win Vista, Win 7- Ethernet LAN Card / Port (10 / 100BaseT) with TCP / IP support.
  • Browser Options: IE, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome. Kindly ensure that your browser is updated to the latest version available.
  • Subscribers can use the service on Wi-Fi enabled devices such as smart phones, tablets, touch pads notebook, etc. These devices must support 802.1X, WPA2 Enterprise security features

Can I access Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service while travelling or outside my home?

Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband is an indoor service and cannot be used while travelling. However, if your society/building has enrolled for Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband campus programme then you may receive coverage in common areas of your society such as lawns, club houses and swimming pools.

Do I need to make any payment at the time of booking the order?

No payment has to be made at the time of booking of the order.

When and how should I pay the subscription amount?

You are required to pay the "Subscription Amount" as mentioned in the plan details on installation post successful service demo at your installation location to the authorised Tikona installation representative only.

Subscription amount payment can be made in 3 convenient ways

  • Online payment: Net-banking or Credit/Debit Card
  • Cash Payment: Against valid e-voucher or physical voucher
  • Cheque/Demand Draft

The subscription amount payment should be made along with the duly filled Subscriber Registration Form (SRF)

What is the process of Service Delivery?

Service delivery of Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband is as follows

  1. Authorised Tikona Sales representative will explain and finalise tariff plan based on your need, and post which he will register the order (NO PAYMENT to made at this stage)
  2. Post placing the order you will receive a call from Tikona for verifying personal details: name, address, registered mobile number, email ID and tariff plan.
  3. The authorised Tikona representative will visit subscriber's premises by appointment to provide a service demo. You are required to pay "Subscription Amount" as mentioned in the plan details to the authorized Tikona installation representative post successful service demo at the installation location.
  4. Service installation will be done within 3 days from the date of realisation of subscription amount. In case of cheque payment, service installation shall take 6-10 working days from cheque submission date.
  5. Post successful installation, Tikona representative will provide the Subscriber Registration Form (SRF), which needs to be filled with complete and correct information. The following documents need to be submitted along with the SRF.

I. Valid Proof of Identity (self-attested A4 size photocopy)

II. Valid Proof of Address (self-attested A4 size photocopy)

III. One Passport size color photograph

IV. Original documents should be produced for validation

If you are a foreign national, following documents are required:

I. Copy of Visa Letter

II. Copy of Passport

III. Two local references: Name, Address, Mobile Number & email ID.

You will receive the User ID on your registered e-mail & mobile number.
After completion of installation, Tikona representative will assist you in generating your Tikona broadband password through the service login page. Do not share your username and password with anyone, including Tikona representatives

What should I do when I face issue with my password?

You can change your password online through Tikona Login page and Self Care portal  or contact Tikona Care on 1860-3000-3434, the executive will assist you to set up your new password.

Are there any additional cost, that I am expected to pay besides installation charges?

A CAT 5 cable shall be provided at no extra cost, however, cable-laying through casing and capping will be charged at Rs.15 per foot. The same is payable directly to the authorised Tikona Installation executive.

Where is the CPE installed?

The CPE is outdoor equipment which will be installed outside your premises. It is usually installed on terrace or in balcony from where the connectivity to the Access Point is good to provide reliable service.

What speed is offered by Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband for its service?

Please pay on or before the "Due Date" to avoid temporary suspension of your service and / or late payment charges. If payments are made after the due date, late payment charges will be levied @ 2% per month or Rs.100 whichever is higher.

All our long term plans are on advance rental basis. You need to pay the plan charges along with service tax in advance. You need to make payments before due date to avoid temporary suspension.

Will I get refund of my plan charges if I apply for discontinuation of service?

If the subscriber of any plan surrenders the connection, then

  • The request for refund will be considered in case of Tikona's inability to restore the connectivity due to reasons such as site out of service, due to permission issues or other situations with similar effect. No refund is applicable in any other cases.
  • If refund is applicable then,

- In case of Refund, installation charges corresponding to your plan, shall be adjusted/deducted towards installation.
- Plan charges corresponding to the number of days/month of use/data transfer shall be payable/deducted from the upfront amount received to determine  the refund, if any. A full month shall be counted in case the usage is for part of the month.
• Refund, if applicable will be processed within 30 working days from the date of cancellation.

When can I start using my internet service?

You can start using the service post installation and realization of subscription amount.

You will be charged only on the basis of upload/download of data and not for the time for which you are connected to the internet. However, we recommend you to log out when you do not want to use internet as activities such as streaming, flash, auto updates, virus on your PC etc. can result in unintended data usage. 

Do you provide any online portal to manage my account?

Yes, you can manage your account online through Tikona Self Care portal. Alternatively, the portal can be accessed through our website (Visit www.tikona.in >> Click on My Account >> Enter User ID and Password)

What are the things I can do from my Online Self Care portal?

Tikona Secured Wireless Online Self Care portal provides facilities, such as:

How do I know what is the actual speed of my Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service?

You can check the speed of your Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service by logging through the speed test icon provided on the dialer or Go to http://speedtest.tikona.in. Both facilities are available for windows user only. MAC users can test speed by using the speedtest link.

Note: The speed displayed is up to Tikona ISP node.

Can I shift my connection from one location to another location within or across the city?

Service can be provided if our network is available in your new location. Shifting charges will be applicable as per Company policy. You will need to provide your new address proof for installation & billing purpose.

How can I change my billing address?

In the event of address change or address provided with us is incorrect, you can update your address by contacting Tikona Care at 1860 3000 3434 and submitting a proof of new address.

Can I change my tariff plan?

You can change your tariff plan as per the migration rules set by the Company. For changing the plan please contact Tikona Care on 1860 3000 3434 or write an email to customercare@tikona.in

Will I get a signal everywhere in my home for wireless connectivity?

Yes, you can receive our signal throughout your home.

  • One hot spot instance can support an area of approximately 1000 sq.ft. Please note for large homes, additional hotspots will be required.
  • Connects multiple PC/Desktops wirelessly
  • Simultaneous log-ins only for single location as per your subscribed plan

What are the change request I can make through mobile?

Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband has introduced a mobile based short-code SMS functionality through which you can change mobile number, e-mail id and check and pay bill. You need to send a SMS to 5676708 from your registered mobile number in the format mentioned below.

If your mobile number is registered in DNC you will only receive the transactional alerts, like Bill related and password related. You may not receive the plan related alerts. It is advisable to subscribe for Tikona SMS service to get all information about your plan and account.

You can subscribe for Tikona alerts on your registered mobile number by sending START TIKONA at 9004775558. You can unsubscribe Tikona alerts by sending STOP TIKONA at 9004775558.

Which CPEs/modem do I need to access Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service?

The Company provides Modem/CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) to the subscriber depending upon the nature of installation and service subscribed.

Do I own the CPE provided to me?

CPE provided with the service is property of Tikona and in case of disconnection of service you need to return it to us. If CPE not recovered by the company or returned in non working/damaged condition Rs. 1500 per CPE will be payable.

Will Tikona do an initial configuration of the service on my PC/Laptop?

 

Yes, authorised Tikona installation representative will do the initial configuration of our service as a part of the installation process.

The Company recommends you to use CPE provided by us, as it complies with the security standards set by Department of Telecom (DOT).

Is Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service secure?

Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband is a secured service as compared to other self installed Wi-Fi services for the following:

  • It complies with Department of Telecom (DOT) directives on home wireless security (no. 820-1/2008 DS Pt II dated 23-02-2009) and is enabled with highest level WPA2 Enterprise security with AEC encryption technology (128 bit key versus 40 bit key used in earlier standards) for data transmission and 802.1x authentication. This ensures a secure connection besides being the ONLY DoT compliant Wi-Fi solution offered by any broadband ISP in the country

  • Password is to be set by you through Tikona Login page or Self Care Portal

  • Access is given to devices whose MAC IDs are registered by you
 

What are the best practices to be adopted by a user while accessing Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service?

  • User to ensure that the laptop wireless button is switched ON, incase connecting through @ll Home Secured Wi-Fi Solution

  • Remove proxy settings

  • Change password regularly

  • Do not share your login password with anyone including authorised Tikona representative

  • Logout when you are not expected to use the service for an extended duration

What plan is ideally suited for me?

Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband offers Unlimited Usage plans.

If you want flat fee billing every month, we recommend you to opt for Unlimited Usage Plans. These plans are speed multiplier plans, available with combination of quarterly & Half yearly billing cycle options. In these plans you can enjoy up to 4 times the speeds during day or office hours (8.00AM to 8.00 PM). During night or the non-office hours you get flat 512Kbps speed for all plans. These plans are apt for your business requirements and applications.

What is the difference in surfing experience between Home plans and Office plans?

Office plans have better contention ratio than home plans and hence surfing experience is better than home plans.

Unlimited Office plans have a contention ratio of 1:8 while unlimited home plans have a contention ratio of 1:20

If you are taking the connection in your company's name, you need to submit Proof of Address and Proof of Identity documents for your company.

Valid documents for Proof of Address are: 

I. Telephone bill (recent 2 months)

II. Electricity Bill (recent 2 months)

III. Lease agreement

IV. Bank statement (recent 3 months)

If I shift my office location, how do I know whether the Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service will be available at the new location and what are the charges I need to pay if the service is available at the new location?

 

If you are shifting your office, you can call up Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband help desk at 1860 3000 3434 to find out whether the new location already has the Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband service. If service is available at new location, our helpdesk will take down the request for a shift in location. The one-time charge for shifting is Rs. 250.

I have 5 PCs in office which need Internet access. How do I use the service?

Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband plans are available with multiple combinations of number and concurrent users and speed. You may select a plan as per your requirement. Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband recommends that you use user name & password for accessing the Internet. Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband will deliver service in the same way as done in homes.
You may select a plan with 5 or 6 simultaneous login.  Kindly refer plan details for number of concurrent session for a specific plan.

I have a LAN in my office. PCs are connected to each other via a LAN switch. How do I use the service?

In this case, Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband CPE will act as a Router and allow PCs in office to connect to the Internet. 
Laptops can directly connect wirelessly to Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband CPE and Desktops can connect through Ethernet via LAN switch.

I have a LAN and use a Proxy in my office. How do I use the Internet?

In this case, Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband will terminate the connection on to your office proxy.

Once you login via the proxy, all PCs behind the proxy in your office will be able to surf the Internet.
